Location: Chennai, India Function: Data Analytics & Insights – Centre of Excellence (CoE) Role Summary As a Junior Data Analyst, you will be a core member of the Centre of Excellence (CoE) team—driving business intelligence across revenue, demand signals, customer behavior, and product performance. This is a high-impact role where your insights will shape decision-making in marketing, merchandising, demand planning, and finance across D2C, B2B, and Q-commerce platforms. Unlike operational reporting roles, this position is geared toward front-end performance analytics—providing insights that steer business growth. Key Responsibilities Focus Area Data Preparation & Governance Pull and harmonize data from Shopify, marketplaces, quick-commerce portals, CRM, and ERP systems. Run automated validation scripts to ensure data accuracy before pushing data to dashboards. Business Dashboards Build and maintain self-serve dashboards in Power BI / Tableau covering GMV, AOV, channel mix, fill rates, contribution margins, and promo ROI. Deliver weekly scorecards for category managers and senior leadership. Insighting & Storytelling Identify trends in SKU performance, promo uplift, geographic splits, and sales velocity. Translate complex analysis into actionable insights and strategic recommendations. Forecast & Scenario Support Support the Excellence Manager in demand forecasting that feeds into S&OP processes. Build "what-if" models to evaluate pricing, discounting, and product launch scenarios. Process Automation Collaborate with the Data Engineering team to transition recurring reports from Excel to automated SQL/ETL workflows. Maintain documentation for data definitions and KPIs to ensure a single source of truth. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Engineering, Business Analytics, Economics, or related field. 2–4 years of experience in data analysis with a focus on revenue / commercial insights (preferred industries: FMCG, D2C, or Retail). Proficiency in SQL and Excel; hands-on experience with at least one BI tool (Power BI, Tableau, or Looker). Sound understanding of e-commerce KPIs like AOV, conversion rates, retention cohorts, and promo uplift. Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex data into business-friendly narratives. Nice-to-Have Skills Exposure to Python for statistical modelling. Familiarity with commerce platforms like Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, Blinkit, Instamart, etc. Experience with cloud data warehouses like BigQuery, Redshift, or Snowflake.
